OK… So what’s all the fuss about, right? Is this impact gun really all it’s cracked up to be because a lot of people are raising their eye browse at this one?

I mean, we already know that Ingersoll Rand is one of the top brands of automotive tools out on the market and possibly top of the food chain when it comes to the automotive service industry’s best manufacturer of tools… Well let’s just say they hold their own, right!

But is the Ingersoll Rand Impact Wrench 232TGSL legit?

In short: YES… There are a few reasons why it’s considered one of the “must-have” impact guns in existence today for automotive technicians everywhere even if you’re not a tech.

Now… I want to make sure you have a Great review so I just want to add that with my career as a 17 year veteran Automotive Technician myself, this gun to the left I used for 10 years, the Ingersoll Rand Impact Wrench 231C, until getting the Thunder Gun. Why did I wait so long? I have no FREAKIN idea…?? Probably because I was just so used to mine old one.

Did you know that these guns are modifiable? Yep… But I really don’t recommend it because for the money, you’d be better off getting the bigger impact gun like the thunder.

I only say this from experience so you can take it how you want, but you can actually find a really good Matco, Snap-on or Mac tool guy or gal that will do the modification for you and it will RIP, I kid you not, but you pay for their expertise just like others pay for yours on cars.

After spending $150 just to get my gun repaired and modified I definitely would have been better off moving up to the thunder gun earlier to ease my headaches and pocket book.

My point is this, I’ve had plenty of experience with almost every impact gun out on the market, either with my own purchases & modifications or by using a friends gun to try it out.

But… I have to say that the Ingersoll Rand brand is my product of choice over the years and they have a very solid reputation among others as well.

Now back to the “Thunder Gun”, I’ll try not to sound too much link a brochure. LOL!

I know for a fact, that the 232TGSL has a whole lot of strength – even for you faithful Snap-on or Matco guys out there (You’ll be putting your old guns to sleep after using it… ).

So everyone should be pretty much good to go with that kind of referral… Honestly, this really has nothing to do with the impact gun, but I’ve found that almost every technician in every shop I’ve ever worked in that’s ASE certified has one of these guns or the 2135TiMax, which I also like.

Now I’ve worked in 10 different shops over the years and every time I looked around everyone was using it, except for the lube tech guys or the guys fresh out of tech school because they just don’t know any better yet.

As you can see, the reviews on this Ingersoll Rand Impact Wrench are nearly perfect across the board and I only say nearly, because I tried to find others with bad feedback to find one person just pissed off and gave it one star because of where it was made, but he still bought it! LMFAO!

Owners seem to validate the increased power and performance the 232TGSL brings to the garage, and 99% of people agree that you’re getting a lot of bang for your buck. It beats spending and extra $100 bucks or more from the Matco guy. Hey, I’m just trying to keep it real here…

At $200 bucks, you’ll feel like you’re using something double that price, believe it! The one negative some users point out is that the gun is heavy, but then again, who really cares? If you want power sometimes you have to get a BIG GUN and strong tools, but if you have to hold the gun all day long like an infant child 24/7, then this ain’t the impact gun for you.
